Cheekwood Trains

We went to the trains at Cheekwood over the weekend.

David was very official with his map.

If you have an opportunity to see this installation before it is gone in December, go, go, go.
Especially if you have boys.

There's a little ladybug train that crashes in this tunnel.
It was one of our favorites.
And that backpack he's wearing?
You can check them out, and they're full of activities.
I think that was Henry's favorite part.

The whole display is done with almost all natural materials.
The buildings are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.
And are all Tennessee landmarks.

Seriously?
Amazing.

There are several different tracks running at the same time.

And it's a stroller accessible area.
Obviously.

The detail in this is incredible.

This is the Cheekwood Mansion.
Made out of twigs and acorns.

This is Union Station.
Probably my favorite building in Nashville.

This is us.

Henry seriously loved this backpack.

He made a "callerpitter".
You may call this a caterpillar.

The trains are "G" scale.
If you know what that means, you know more about trains than me.
They are bigger than the Thomas trains we have. . . that is the only perspective I can offer.

David spent the vast majority of his time doing this.
Talking to the person running the trains.
And looking in his building.
He asked approximately 12984586324985723940857209 questions.
The man was very, very patient.
And clearly loves his job.  And trains.

We let Jack out of the stroller for a minute.
A quick, quick minute.
He is W.I.L.D.

And speaking of Thomas
He's there too.

Henry looked like he was about to give a presentation.
On the beauty of the Cheekwood Backpack, no doubt.

When we were done?
We did this.

Cannonball!
