Twilight?

I read this book this week. I have to say, I don't quite understand the cult following it's got. It was a good book, but I wasn't that impressed. I really didn't know much about it before reading it, other than it's supposed to be amazing. It's classified as fiction for young adults. . . I haven't been a "young adult" in the literary sense for a looong time. I'll read the second one, but not because I was so impressed with the first. Don't get me wrong -- the writing is decent, the story is imaginative, and I wasn't bored. I just was a little let down given all of the hype surrounding the book. Have you read it?

I read it last year and have read all the others too. I loved it! Maybe b/c it was prior to the hype?

I felt the same way. I didn't understand as well. Then as I kept reading the other books, I liked them more and more. I really like them now, and after seeing the movie it made me want to read them again. The 1st one was better the 2nd time around. Not my very favorite books or anything, but I think they are good. The 4th one was my favorite. :)

I am so in love with these books. I'm 21..so i guess I still qualify as young adult. To me, they are beautiful! But, i love any romantic tale. I think you'll be suprised by the second book.... it has a punch, actually the rest of the books are a lot more intense.

I don't even have the slightest desire to read any of these. Not sure why, I just don't think I'll enjoy them. And all the hype is kind of killing it for me, ya' know?

I am with Briana. I am not interested in reading them at all. I don't have a specific reason. I just don't think I can into them.

I didn't love the Twilight at first either, but after reading all of them multiple times, I love them! I saw the movie and can't wait for the next one to come out!

I have not read them but my daughter has and she has not recited them practically word for word to me. And she is constantly making references to the characters and vampires so I think I will skip it.
